WE MUST NEVER FORGET the tragic events of 9/11 - 21 years ago. The detailed 3” X 3” embroidered hot cut Velcro patch commemorates the anniversary.
In a standard single-alarm fire, a total of six units—three engines, two ladders, and a battalion chief—respond. A five-alarm fire brings 44 units. September 11 was on the order of five five-alarm responses, involving more than 214 FDNY units—112 engines, 58 ladder trucks, five rescue companies, seven squad companies, four marine units, dozens of chiefs, and numerous command, communication, and support units.

There are the nearly 3,000 names on the 9/11 Memorial. To honor those that lost their life during the 9/11 attacks, we are asking you to climb at least 3,000 stairs in their memory. To take it one step further, visit 911memorial.org and print a list of the names and carry them with you during this challenge.
The workout can be done all at once or broken up throughout the month.
Extra credit? Carry a total of 75 pounds (45 plate in ruck & 30 sandbag / coupon)… to simulate the gear that a fire fighter could be carrying at any one moment. Gear includes the standard stuff (helmet, hood, pants, air pack, etc.) plus thermal imaging camera, radio, box light, axe, etc. Add it up and your easily carrying 75 pounds on the job.

NOTES: Ruck weight can vary. Typically, 20 pounds if you weight under 150; 30 pounds if you are over 150. As always, modify as necessary.
