Independence Day (aka the Fourth of July) is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The Second Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject (and subordinate) to the monarch of Britain, King George III, and were now united, free, and independent states. The Congress had voted to declare independence two days earlier, on July 2, but it was not declared until July 4.
Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches, and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.

The FREEDOM Ruck is simple. Ruck up and knock out 26.2 miles (25K or 13.1 miles). By doing so, you will earn the FREEDOM Ruck medal. The FREEDOM Ruck medal is a custom high quality silver 4" four color 3D casted medal with a sublimated neck ribbon.

VIRTUAL EVENT LEADER BOARD
We have a virtual event leader board. To submit the results from your FREEDOM Marathon, 25K or Half Marathon, you must complete the challenge with the following guidelines:
RUCK UP. GORUCK suggests 30 pounds for anyone weighing in over 150 pounds or 20 pounds for anyone weighing less than 150 pounds.
Ruck the mileage in one continuous movement. You cannot break up miles. All 26.2 (13.1 or 25K) miles must be rucked together - don’t stop.
